Life is noisy and complicated - there are ups and downs and good bits and really horrible bits.
In the moments when we feel overwhelmed - by stress, grief, anger, worry or pain - it can be really hard to see a way out.

Don't get me wrong - I'm a fan of talking therapies. As a Hypnotherapist, I truly value this way of healing and improving the self.
At 2am, when your eyes won't close - or when you're struggling to focus on work because you can't stop stewing on that thing - or when you're just trying to get on with your life, but you're held back by the crappy way you feel - what then?
Your therapist isn't there in that moment, there's only you - well that is more than enough.
Believe it or not, you can change your mood - transform it - in under ten minutes. You just have to know that you are in charge of how you feel - and that you are capable of making yourself feel better.
You don't need to wait until your circumstances change to feel better - feel better first and watch your circumstances change.
One of the best and quickest ways I know to instantly improve how you feel is meditation. If you're flooded with anxiety or feeling out of control emotionally, then just the simple fact of taking a bit of time out will help more than you can imagine.
If your breathing is shallow, your heart racing, your mind in a jumble, then sitting for 5-10 minutes gently focusing on your breath and on relaxing your body will completely change that for you.
